History and Mission
The Westover Shore To Shore Relay started as an idea at a meeting of the Board Of Directors at Westover Treatment Centre and was developed under the leadership of the centre's Executive Director Willy Van Klooster. While the event is a means for individuals to accomplish a tremendous personal goal it is also an event to raise funds and visibility for Westover.
John Salt, Jason Vurma and the team at MultiSport Canada were contracted to design the race course, manage all logistics and act as Race Director. MultiSport Canada also owns and operates the eleven race HSBC Triathlon Series, the Wasaga Beach Half Marathon, the Fanshawe Lake Mountain Bike Enduro races and the Fanshawe Lake Trail running races.
